Device Preparation and Data Wiping

Protect your personal information and prevent delays by preparing
your device correctly before sending it.

Preparation Checklist

Back Up Your Information

Copy your photos, contacts, messages, files and authenticator
information before erasing the device.

Sign Out of Accounts

Sign out of iCloud, Find My, Google, Samsung and other accounts.
Remove activation locks and device-management profiles.

Factory Reset

Use the manufacturer’s factory-reset process where the device is
functional. Do not rely only on manually deleting individual
files.

Remove Cards

Remove physical SIM cards, memory cards and any other removable
storage. Cards received with the device may be destroyed.

Secure Device Processing

Accepted devices are normally subjected to a secure data-erasure
process before reuse.

Device processing may be carried out by REBOXED LTD or an appointed
operational partner.

Non-working devices:
A device that cannot power on may still contain accessible personal
information. Remove connected accounts remotely where the manufacturer
provides that option.

Do Not Send

  • Written passwords or unlock codes inside the parcel
  • SIM cards
  • Memory cards
  • Unnecessary identity documents
  • Unrequested accessories
  • Devices with swollen, leaking or visibly unsafe batteries without
    first obtaining instructions

After Posting

Keep your order confirmation, proof of postage and tracking number.

If you later realise that an account remains connected to the device,
contact customer support immediately.
